If whales evolved from land animals, where are the half aquatic mammals still adapting? Evolution is supposed to be continuous, yet we only see finished species, not ones in the middle of transforming. That’s a major gap.

Your question doesn't make sense. Like I said - every animal is adapting. Some more than others, some less than others. You have to understand the process of it better. The species that are surviving are the ones passing on its genes. Take horseshoe crabs. They have the perfect habitat for themselves and has been so for mil of years. Any mutation to them will just make them less adapted to the enviroment. They are more or less "perfect"
and put in your mind that evolution can't do that to moral things such as the soul, intelligence, conscience, etc.

... you're missing the point. We see that species gradually evolve. But we need to name them. We can't name every single fossil found by one unique name. We group them. That's language. The fact is that they did gradually evolve over millions of years. Actually the "transitional fossil" problem is more linguistic problem than anything.
Horseshoe crabs may be "perfect" for their environment, but humans changed the environment itself. That’s not just evolution that’s something beyond mere adaptation
