The weekend of the 22nd I have to go to a storage room me and my fiance share with my sil to clear it out and move the stuff (mind u the 22nd is my mom's birthday which is still a hard day for me)
And my mil said she "expects" me to help move the stuff (like I don't do literally everything anyway)
But she was referencing the fact that I don't carry heavy things like furniture
Cause my "medical condition" isn't an "excuse" for me to sit out
Mind u I have arthritis in my knee
Which if I put to much strain on my knee Literally locks in and I can't bend my leg AT ALL
So everytime there is heavy stuff to be moved I opt out CAUSE I LITERALLY CAN'T DO IT
And everyone is complaining about it cause I constantly come up with that excuse even tho I literally have meds for it and there has been days that I'm bed ridden cause my knee is so swollen after a day of walking for hours and putting to much strain on it
And now it's constantly a fight cause I said NO
I'ma not put my self at risk of ending up in the hospital or hurting someone else cause I can't fucking walk up strairs carrying a 50 kg fridge cause mu knee won't bend
Can you find a friend to help move stuff in your place? If you can’t move stuff, the logical thing to do is find someone who can to even it out.
It’s like if you’re a terrible cook, you don’t show up to a cookout empty handed, you bring sides or a dessert.
You find a way to contribute in anyway you can.
I can carry the boxes and move those type of things
I just can't lift something that requires two or more people cause it's to heavy
So In the essence I do more with the boxes to compensate me not carrying heavy things
So it's not like I don't do anything
I just don't put myself in a position where I can potentially fuck up mu knee even more
And I told her I'll ask my brother to come over that weekend to help carry our heavy furniture like the massive ass desk my fiance has,our dishwasher and couch and one box that's really fucking heavy
And that's literally the only things I can't carry
But it's always a fucking fight about it
