Let him move on to someone who didn’t keep him on the back burner. That’s my advice. If you couldn’t see his worth then you’re only using him as a rebound now.

I still stand by letting him move on to someone who didn’t do that to him. It was probably hard enough for him at the time and you’re just reopening old wounds. Hopefully he is already happy with someone who wouldn’t do that to him

Yeah because once someone treats you that way you should respect yourself enough not to go back. Like if I did that to a good woman..I’d just leave her alone and I think it might stay on the persons mind and effect the relationship that they were always option number 2

It’s kinder and more selfless to let them heal and meet new people than drag them back when it’s now convenient for you. Because that’s pretty selfish

Some ppl might disagree but I think that’s bc everyone has a very “me me me” attitude lol. You wouldn’t want that for yourself or for a loved one so why do that to them if you care about them too. You know? Like if your best friend or a family member you care deeply about told you this happened to them

You’d tell them don’t go back tk that person you deserve better so let him have better

Yeah maybe he’ll reach out who knows. But I’d leave that to him to decide given he was likely the one most emotionally impacted by what happened

You also don’t know what’s going on In his life right now.. maybe he did meet someone and it’ll just cause confusion 😅 and bring back a wave of bad memories or feelings

No prob! Just been on both ends at one point LOL so I can relate to both sides. I think if you’re still on his mind eventually he will look for you if that’s the case and if not it’s good he isn’t brought back to a past he may be trying very hard to forget & grow from. Thanks for considering a different perspective

Eh, I wouldn’t do it. That’s a huge age gap. Probably won’t work out long term and also destroy your family dynamic. Family is important. If you lose that and it doesn’t work out with him.. then what?

Sure, with therapy and such. But they have to want to change and be able to reflect on their actions
