But the greens above are the chayote shoots, no?
The green stem on my dish is the vine on which the chayote grows. You can find them in almost all AsianChineseThai supermarkets.
With chayote, you can make a gratin. Cook with meat or fish, on its own. It loses a lot of water when cooked, like zucchini. The taste is similar.
What's the meat? A bbq or smoked pork?
Personally, I use pork when I make a stew.
I found a photo for you in Google
I found a photo for you in Google
Oh yeah 🤤 that looks tasty
My message isn't sending. Wait, I'll try again.
I found a photo of the dish in Google: pork and chayote
And is that a chutney or salsa on the side of the original photo?
it's tomato cut into very small small .... small pieces, salt pepper ginger green chili
and a small piece of red onion
Well that's a beautiful dish and it sounds delicious 😋
I'll admit that it's a dish that's eaten with the hands. Goodbye fork. See you tomorrow. 🤣🤣
Lol, I'm good with that 🤏🚫🍴
What is the typical dish of your country?
That's a tough question 🤔
What is a typical American dish?
Three triple bacon cheeseburgers deep fried
That could be one for sure
What's the typical Canadian dish?
Honestly North American countries are too big to have a “typical dish” for the whole country
See? Thats stereoptype. In reality thats a quebec thing
Mind you theres a fast food chain that has popularized it outside of quebec in recent years
I'll claim poutine as my typical dish
I dont know that every region would have a typical dish. It just depends. On the east coast seafood is very common because theres a thriving fishing economy
Sorry, I was daydreaming about poutine.. delayed response
>>> See? Thats stereoptype. In reality thats ...
It's not a cliché. It's Quebecois. Quebec is in Canada. And when you go to Quebec, everyone advises you to eat it.
Is pizza North America's typical dish?
It's like eating frogs' legs in France. They're only eaten in a small region of the country. And yet... many people think it's common throughout the country.
>>> Is pizza North America's typical dish?
Its italian i think
Yaaaa. The stereotype is that poutine is Canadian. The reality is that is predominantly quebec
Maybe your wealth is having a mix of people and therefore of dishes 🥰
That is absolutely the case
Pizza is originally italian. Many American areas that were initially largely settled by italians are now “known” for pizza. Like New York
Yeah. So claiming frog legs would be a france thing would be a stereotype
Does American pizza have a thick crust?
I wasn't talking about origin though, I was talking about typical.. in terms of origin in the USA probably Chilli
Again. There is no standard. New york pizza does not. Its thin af
Chicago is known for deep dish
your specialty is making huge portions
Yeah the Canadians are way more healthy..
I'm trying to think of a Canadian dish and weirdly all I can think of is French Fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds
Louisiana dishes are pretty typical, aren't they? Even if the inspiration comes from everywhere else.
Look at that! Thanks Chirp 👍
I think I'll pass on the Jellied moose nose
>>> Louisiana dishes are pretty typical, aren'...
Well, it depends really.. I mean I would say that most people know of gumbo or jambalaya but I wouldn't say that most cook it regularly..
I want a map like the one Chirp dropped for Canada but for the USA and it won't give me one 🫤
finally you have lots of good things
finally you have lots of good things
The one I has doesn’t have foods for the us, but the ones Pastèque found are fab 🙂
Lol poor Oregon..
you've died of dysentery
Hahaha much ado abooot is so well placed on that map 😂
Ah the Canadian tunes 🙂 try this Pastèque 🤗
I'm going to listen to this right now
☺️they are fantastic. Nice vibes
Mehhh Yes and no. For sure we have worse habits than a lot of European countries. But Canada doesn’t have that subset of the population thats morbidly obese like some part of the US do
The 50 state map pic is pretty accurate 👍
Weirdly Canadia has a population of 40.1 million people (slightly more than the state of California).. the US has a population of 340.1 million
>>> The 50 state map pic is pretty accurate 👍
Lol purple rain
