Hello, I’m just back for a bit, need to disconnect from the fact that This week has been insane. I had to take an emergency flight to Peru because my dad got sick while visiting his sisters and he had an emergency operation. According to doctors he likely has colon cancer so yep. Now he’s in the intensive care unit under observation because his kidneys are struggling so yep. I’m just praying he makes it.

So after my visit today I can say my dad is going much better, he’ll likely get out of ICU tomorrow as he has responded well to treatment but he will have to stay another week to make sure his stoma is functioning properly and that he can take care of it properly, also to finish the round of antibiotics
That’s wonderful. I hope he has a speedy recovery and the hospital has the best jello

Peruvian hospital food… they have a dish made out of corn that is sweet, and has more nourishment than jello 👀🥤

In other news, it’s likely that my dad will be taken out of intensive care today, I’m preying for that, he will be sent to a normal room and from there it’s a matter of finishing some rounds of meds, teaching him what he can and can’t do and in another week we will probably be able to go home
And I know it’s similar to the other update but when they tried to give him food that day one of the nurses gave him too much water and he vomited so he was kept another day on intensive care just to prevent him drowning on his own vomit

I’m glad he’s doing better, Ches. If possible, monitor the nurses every time they come in the room and don’t be afraid to ask for a different nurse!
Nurses here have been spectacular actually, it was him who sneaked the extra glasses cause it’s different nurses that enter constantly 🙄🤦🏻♀️ he basically fooled them 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ anyways I’m just waiting for the call of the room were he will be staying
