Part of the problem is in government there is strong unions and it’s setup to be harder to layoff people who were there longer. Which not only makes it more difficult to fix, but is a reason it got so bad to begin with
The research part needed to be immediate, we shouldn’t be paying any indirect costs let alone 50%, we also should have immediately cut foreign aid too. These are overwhelmingly areas that don’t benefit us so it’s easy to cut
We can cut a lot from the defense budget and still spend the most of any country
We wouldn’t even need the strongest military to protect us, geography and an armed populace helps in that regard.
An investment for themselves is not a contribution to trump
They are investing to help themselves make more profit, not cause they like or support trump
