There are major flaws with the tax plan, but cutting waste and allowing people to keep more of their own money is a good thing

And a lot of government jobs are hardly middle class, average government job pay is over six figures
Lower tax brackets are paying a lower percentage to begin with so there is less to cut. The biggest tax cut for those brackets is the fact the standard deduction is doubled

You don’t understand how taxes work lol
If they are paying 10% you can only cut their taxes by 10% maximum
If you are paying 30% if you cut by 10% there is still more room to cut
You can’t just tax your way out of the debt

They didn’t have large enough majorities to repeal or else they might have tried. They did try to change the salt deduction cap (which ironically is something that wouldn’t help the middle class, only the rich)
Which is one of my problems with trumps recent proposals, Imo there shouldn’t be any salt deduction, but now he wants to raise the deduction limit from what it was set to in 2017
Richer people in higher tax areas shouldn’t have a deduction carve out
Salt isn’t a driver of investment
If they want to live in a high tax area they shouldn’t get a deduction for it
If your local taxes are too high that’s the local governments fault, not the federal government
I would prioritize building the medical industry, us relying on China for medical equipment and drugs is the worst thing that we offshored
