Bugs can learn and they have different personalities
The people in the town certainly do, a town has it's own ideas and ways of adapting to things separate from another town
I think it's quite reductive to define consciousness with humans at the center
What would be beyond that?
Humans are only the waythat they are because they've adapted to an environment
ughh i mean that we are 😉
okok lets define consciousness
So I think sentience, sensing, self-consciousness, adaptability are all key facts
By these things I think a forest is certainly conscious
So this actually reminds me of wasps, they have the ability to infer
So wasps work off hierarchy, they're have #1 wasp in a hive all the way to #12 or so and if wasp #5 fights #3 and then witnesses wasp #2 beat #3 in a fight then it knows it won't be able to fight #2
this is logic no? bugs learning not from past experiences but gaining knowledge to understand results in advance
So my argument is that consciousness lives outside of humans
I think a forest as a collective with it's root networks & mycelium show convincing signs of consciousness. The ability to transfer knowledge from tree to tree and react as a collective
Do you always insult people who have different perspectives than you?
This is subtly what I'm getting at, just because there's consciousness in a way you don't recognise doesn't mean it isnt there
Guy sounds like a narcissist
Well I thought we'd define it together, I'm to eepy now
idk if I actually think forests are conscious, the idea just makes sense in my head tho
Yeah but humans are just a bunch of organisms working in unison, as is a forest
lots of people don't do that
they just instantly act out based on their emotions
