I was thrown into the stereotype. Everyone assumes, especially since I was the one who moved out, that I cheated on my wife, had an affair, or was abusive. So after my divorce, pretty much lost everything

My kids also hated that I moved out. and hated me for it.

So I let it all just rest on me. Telling them them or others different, just would have hurt my kids, my ex

I never said I wasn't a supportive father.

I see my youngest almost every day, and my oldest when he's home from college.

I've been in their lives as much as I can.

But I have never told them that I wasn't the one that had the affair, that it was their mother.

They don't need to know that.

However, kind of what you just did, everyone assumes that I was the bad person, it's generally the guy that's at fault.

But why should I tell my kids that their mother cheated on me. What does it to for them? Hurt them more because I left and I left because their mom was a cheat?

That's why I said I come on here to chat about it. I am not going to share this in my real life.

it was funny once. My ex and I were standing next to each other, I think it was for one of our kid's events, like a game or something.

And my ex was talking to another parent, I wasn't in the conversation, I was just standing there waiting for our son, I think. The parent picked up that my ex was saying "their father" and not "my husband" and asked if she was divorced. She said we were, and the parent said the normal, oh divorce is hard, but it is good that you got out of a bad relationship, especially if he was cheating on you.

Hell, my parents don't know why we divorced, I told them we fell out of love and decided to separate, and my mom even accused me of being unfaithful

Saying "I'm single" apparently is wrong, and I'm supposed to say I am divorced, but divorced branded me as the bad guy.
