That is literally just family matchmaking then. Arranged marriage is exactly that. “Arranged” by the families. It’s expedient and economicallysocially beneficial but either the bride nor groom tend to have a say. Often times it’s the groom who presents the best dowry who gets to pick the girl, and usually this leads down darker roads such as child marriage. It’s why in some U.S. states it’s still “technically” legal for someone to marry a young girl with the parent’s consent
