I am personally not part of any organized religion, but expect there are some who will follow blindly while others may question. There have been some social studies that show people will often follow the crowd even when the crowd is is wrong and the person themselves have the right answer.

I think the problem with religion basically is that it is taught to us since we are children. It is very difficult to discern what is true or not, or what to believe at all if all that is part of your culture

I didn't have any issues with that personally

I refused all of the religions practiced by my family, and the cultural holidays of this region

I turned my back to religion as an adult

I got out as soon as I could, at 10

I received a crash course by being forced to practice 3 religions at the same time

My parents were divorced, and I went back and forth from different household every week. They also left me with my grandparents often. Each had a different religion, that I had to take part in

My father and his family are jehovahs witness, my mother is an atheist, and my grandparents were catholic

I think people tend to find comfort in religion because some people find real solace in thinking there is someone "bigger" than them watching out for them, in the way that children find comfort in knowing their parents are close by. Or that there is a "reason" for what they're experiencing. It can make life easier to deal in those cases. It's not like that for me, as I take a more mechanistic and astrotheist view of the universe.

Humans tend to be very fearful of the unknown. Little unknowns and large unknowns.

It is painful to accept that the ones we love are gone forever after they die. To some others, it’s the fear of death itself

I've already experienced far too much to think life ends at the death of our current body

No, I am not worried either. Just saying as a general idea

I was just sharing my personal perspective on it, I've never been driven towards religion or spirituality for those particular reasons

But it does make sense
