That's going to put a hurt on some of the rooms that are based on picture sharing.

When I got started on computers, they were very few desktops around. I was programming a mainframe.

Desktops were available, but they were expensive and not common. Hey buddy and I would write programs into the ones that were on display at the stores and create loops in them.

And if you wanted to recall an old program, you had to give them 24-hours notice.

The Paint software currently on the computers is so much less capable than the older version.

A big irony is that we didn't have computer terminals in our computer class. We had to go to another building and use the mainframe there for our homework.

A few years later, itwas really awesome when we had this computer screens with an option of three colors -- green font, orange font, or gray font, all on a dark gray background.

In the classroom we were doing everything on paper. We'd turn in printed copies of our programs.

Even after I started using Windows, I would still go into DOS and write programs and use other DOS programs.

I haven't tried with the current Windows software, but there was one version that blocked users from getting to DOS. That really ticked me off.

In one of the earlier versions of Windows, while I was still in the Marines, we had a Navy Seabee in our unit. While he was out of his office, I got into his computer and modified the startup program. Every time he turned on his computer, it would play the Marines Hymn before letting him do anything else. 😆

I also did that to a Navy doctor, but he knew enough about computers that he went in and deleted that command in the startup routine.

That Navy SeaBee and I are still friends to this day.

We picked on the SeaBee quite a bit, but it was all good-natured.

Especially at my work. Too many bullies and the manager lacks intestinal fortitude to deal with them. Those bullies also don't know how to react when I tell them "no". Most of them are young and apparently did not have any parents instilling discipline in them.
