Married man with a crush on a married woman I see regularly, the crush has been going on for years.

Recently found out that she felt the same way for the same length of time.

And now after a long talk and hand holding and the like, I’m besotted and in love with her, and she feels the same.

We both have families and we both can’t leave them as we know that would be the stupidest thing in the world to do.

We both still love our respective partners and our kids and wouldn’t do anything to hurt them.

So we’ve resolved not to do anything.

We text but we can hardly bear to look at each other.

I ache for her, long to hold her, yearn to look into her eyes and tell her I love her.

But this can never and will never happen.

I will still see her regularly, and we both act normal because we can’t give anything away. We have to protect our families.

But I ache, from the moment I wake up until I fall asleep at night.

I ache for her. I want her. There is no solution.

It’s stupid and wrong and adolescent, and we both know it, and all we have is this mutual despair.

I’mnot looking for advice. I just wanted to type this out and have someone - anyone - read it. A problem shared, right?

Anyway, this seemed like the right room.

And she is beautiful. A goddess. Which doesn’t make things any easier, because I’m basically Shrek here.

She is funny, clever, smart, witty, and way out of my league. But somehow, she wants me like I want her.

But it can never happen. So I just ache.
