I was a week early and moon wasn’t up yet there
I was at Zion during new moon and it was the darkest I’ve ever experienced
Even with the moon? Are you allowed to night hike there?
New moon is essential no moon at night so pitch dark especially where there’s no street lights
You can but not recommended
It does get extremely dark out there lol. But the stars do shine bright. Pretty cool if you are comfortable with the darkness
New moon is the best time to see all the stars
Zion and Bryce are certified dork sky areas
My parents get free nights there a lot

We saw a lot of doggos at VoF
It’s about 1.5 miles each way, flat for the first half then up. Considered semi-strenuous

My parents often stay at Suncoast and that’s really close to RR
If they get free stuff or upgrades then might as well take advantage
My dad started going there every year with his childhood friends. Now my parents go there too

There is an artic storm that is bringing cold air to the area. Yes, definitely a dry year in this southern area
