Yes it was, there was a beautiful and almost naive authenticity to the writing in my opinion

To Kill a Mockingbird was taken off the curriculum here I think - it doesn't belong to our history and was seen as counter productive when it cones to racism

Was makingblack children stand out more in mixed classrooms

Of mice and men went too

They just wanted to replace them with something more relevant

Most black people here are of African descent
