BUT and this is the thought i had today watching the one i was bc they keep invoking the goddess but they’re so absolutely brutal to their female pack members like you would think they’d have more respect considering their literal deity is female
but so i think that the moon goddess when it comes to werewolves at the very least is a lot of like a) the moon is very often personified and romantized in a female context and b) making someonething a deity makes them a symbol which makes them not a person which means they’re more or less seen as an object and so it just speaks to men seeing women as objects (this is a crack theory btw i was just really annoyed w the ad)
my mum immediately countered this by reminding me that moon goddesses in other cultures are also goddesses of other things like artemis is also goddess of the hunt for example

i have a project that started w a dragon oc and o love her sm and it’s led to a lot of worldbuilding but it’s also led to me being even more particular about dragons than i was before i did all this cause now ive built my own sort of version of dragons (they do shapeshift its sos fun) and idk if thats a pro or a con cause like ik a lot about dragons already but now ive got my own ideas and hhhh
i’m gonna yap more about the oc and less about dragons in general bc i started thinking about her and i love her sm and rahh
i feel like in a lot of stories you get the idea that dragons are largely solitary and i mean yeah i guess from a lot of what we see they *are* BUT i feel like bc of how they age and i mean that’s very dependent on the world you’re in but with mine at least they age really really slowly like they’re not full adults until they’re around 100 and so they spend a lot of time obv with their parents and wtv so i imagine them having really strong family bonds right
So you've essentially made dragons into a character from your slice of life type of thing. Trying to humanize them more. Thats an interesting idea.
but so with my oc this super strong family bond is like one of her big things which could be a little odd considering she ran away and spent like the majority of her adolescence not with her family so maybe it’s a guilt thing too like “i wasn’t there with them and now i need to be” but at the same time while she does what she does going forward FOR her brother and his hatchlings, it also has her leaving them AGAIN
idk but a LOT of what she does after she actually reaches adulthood is tied to that idea of family being so incredibly important and whatnot cause like i mean destroying that village bc her brother’s partner was killed was more angry grief led reaction but after that she’s all about protecting the hatchlings and goes so far as to kill a human king over it and then go and rule his kingdom bc she was in a state and so panicked and scared that her actions would again lead to someone coming to at...
attack her family again that she took up the role (the crown) herself so no one could do it
