What do I do

I live in a family (not mine). They are not familiar with video games. I showed Minecraft to the 7yo son. Now he likes to draw square shaped characters. His dad punished him by slapping him in the face. I feel guilty. Also, I'm aware this family is helpless and dysfunctional. Thing is that I have not enough mental resources to 1. show the kid cool stuff and 2. be responsible for showing him cool stuff
