The best way to stop that from happening is to work through that trauma because that’s exactly what it is. Once you can move past it it’s easier to keep in check. There’s nothing wrong with caution in the future though, just don’t let it overshadow everything
That's what I've been doing, while being mindful that I'm not in a position to get into anything serious, if at all. I'm hoping that knowing that it could be a problem for me will help me catch it if it does start to get bad
