I've never read their so I can't have a critical position in that I can point to exact verses but ill say this—Scriptures being badly translated at this day and age can be a bad sign for a denomination pushing its own ideology within the Bible

Bad translation in that they are rather liberal in how they translate scripture rather than literal

Since you study with their Bible maybe try bringing another Bible with you and compare scriptures

As you study

Yeah individual lines is often not as good because it could also be that there are critical verses which might have been badly translated

By changing the word they had a way to opt out of trinity
