Technically English is a UK language. Other nations who speak English make their own versions up and the native speakers are actually German, Danish and Dutch. Even myself an Englishman do not speak the native tongue.
When I say native, I mean Anglo-Saxons and Jutes language. They created English and even now, the English is not the same. So technically it is a different language
