Seoul is not ugly but if you really want to get to know a country on holiday you should rather look at the small towns or villages
At least you shouldn't just be in a big city
>>> This is true everywhere. The culture in sm...
In Namhae-gun alone, you could eat warm noodles for the equivalent of 1 dollar plus 50-70 cents for a drink. The same noodles in Seoul cost 3-5 dollars.
>>> What kind of work do you do?
I work in my parents' shop and am also a tourist guide and bungee jumping guide. I don't have the English word for that, so I call it bungee jumping guide
where are you actuallyfrom if you want to answer it
>>> I live in the US. In Washington, DC
I've been to the US once, but never again. I really didn't have a good time there
>>> When you are purchasing goods, you are usi...
no, but if I write in Korean currency, you have to google how much it is in dollars first, and that way you'll know right away.
>>> Where did you visit?
Miami, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Seattle
No disrespect, but there are so many places in the USA where it is just dirty. You see drug addicts and homeless people everywhere, and it felt like every few hundred meters you were being begged for money.
and then we often heard guns shot and for the people living there it was probably everyday life And I have to say that I felt more comfortable and safe in places where mainly white people, Mexicans or Asians were present than in an area with only black people.
and I had the feeling where mainly black people lived it was dirtier and more dangerous that was my experience and what I saw
>>> Did you travel by yourself or with a tour...
with friends? We didn't have a big plan; we just wanted to look around, but in the first three days we were in New York and were immediately insulted and sexually harassed with stupid comments and such.
>>> I'm sorry you had those experiences. It's...
well, but when I see how many school shootings there are in 2024 alone—over a thousand—the USA should question whether this should continue.
>>> What year did you visit the US, jiwoo?
2019
So it's gotten worse. It's good that I don't travel to the USA anymore, although I like watching baseball and MKT Korea, Japan and the USA are the best. But then I'd rather stay in Korea or Japan. The only exception is when the former Oklahoma A's reach the finals.
>>> Is baseball a popular sport in Korea?
Yes, just like in Japan, except that our young players train very hard, harder than the US players. For example, the pitchers are already 15-16 and can throw 500 pitches a day. Every pitcher stays on the field for the entire game, even if they are far behind or have a minor injury.
In Japan the players train so much, especially when the biggest school tournament is in Japan, everyone wants to play, even if you are injured and it can cost your career, you play in the tournament.
>>> Oakland A's
I mean, yes, they're my favorite baseball team in the USA, and in football, I like the Cleveland Browns the most.
>>> I have to go out now. Maybe we can continue...
very gladly 🙂 thank you
