Well first you need to capture one. Then you let it have babies. Then you keep that babies in a coop. Then you let the babies fly around. Then you let them come back. (Their species came back to the same spot to breed before we domesticated them.) then you reward them. Repeat the cycle further and further until you can reliably attach a message
