That is a very tough job. My heart goes out to you

I was an EMT whose station was close to an assisted care facility so we gots lots of calls to them.

I found out I had a “super power” with the little old ladies. They just loved me!!!

Talked to them, joked with them. They just love to chat and I do as well

Had an old lady (90+) whose caregiver lost control of her and they needed a lift assist. My partner was small and where she was was very small

I went to lift her and before I lifted her to a chair to roll her out of the area I said “Want to get cheek to cheek?” She smiled really big and said “Ohyes”!!

I lifted her and rolled her out to a chair in her living room. When I went to lift her I looked her in the eye and said “Care to dance?” Her eyes twinkled and she said “Oh my yes!!” I lifted and set her in the chair. She held on for a couple of seconds longer and was all smiles when she finally let go!!!

Those ladies were fun as hell! The old guys, as soon as they found out I am a retired Marine, would tell me the stories of when they were in the military!

Covid ended my career as an EMT.
